This book was a pleasant surprise, and has the potential to become a very good series. My only complaint is that it was too short. This caused a lack of depth to the characters, and then made it seem like they fell in love way too fast. Other than that though, the concept was really good. We become aquainted with "The Brotherhood of the Green Hide"; they are a group of dragons who protect the tribes from "The Knights of St. George." This is an ancient blood feud between the two, and they are extreme enemies. Stig is the hero of this story and he has just come in to his mating heat. This happens every three years and causes him to become primal and unable to control his lust for a female. He has his basement set up with chains so that he can secure himself when he is at his worst, and this way he doesn't have to worry about harming a woman with his animalistic urges. He is all set to go into his prison for the night when his dead best friend's sister shows up at his doorstep needing sanctuary in his home. Cora has landed herself into some extreme danger, and the only person she trusts is her late brother's friend Stig. Of course, these two have been secretly attracted to one another over the years but have never acted on it. I don't need to spoil the story; but you can imagine what happens when you have a dragon in heat and a woman who has had the hots for him for years and put them together! I will say that the sparks fly, and these two have some major chemistry going on. When they give in to their lust, it is blazing hot!! The one big hurdle though, is the fact that Cora is not aware that Stig is a dragon. Will he have the guts to tell her, and if so will she accept him for his differences? We also meet the other members of the Brotherhood, but because the story is quite short we don't get too much info on their characters and what they look like. I do look forward to meeting more of them, and I hope that as the series progresses there will be more detail and insight into the characters we are getting to know. All in all, it was a pleasant read that I enjoyed. I will be looking for the next installment and felt that Lolita Lopez wrote a great beginning to a promising series. Thank you to Net Galley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing)for the opportunity to read the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Short, 80 some pages on my e-reader. Basically about two people who've been crushing on each other for years finally checking out their connection. Only issue is the hero is a dragon and the heroine a human. Simple story and the enemy was interesting. Slightly upset the dragons in this seem small. H could run up steps and through the house in dragon form & the house was still standing. I prefer dragons to be giant.

Although this was a quick read, I felt that it was a great start to a new Paranormal romance series. Dragons' mmmmmm, how can you go wrong. Stig is a dragon, he is about to go into his mating period. Cora who he has had feelings for forever comes to him for aid. Now he just has to keep her away from him, the consequences could be dire. Cora is human and he shouldn't take a human for a mate. What keeps this from being your typical instalove romantic tryst, is the fact that these characters knew each other for years. What I didn't like was how quick Cora decided it was okay for Stig to be a dragon and just go along with it. I get it, the man is hot and she's been dying to have him inside her, but some realism wouldn't hurt anyone. 4 stars ***warning....this review goes into details about what goes on in the story so if you don't want spoilers then you may not want to read this review*** This was a very good story. I really liked both Stig and Cora and enjoyed their story. I will warn you that the story is a bit shorter than it expected as it ended at around 80% on my Kindle (there's a preview for book #2 Red Hot Dragon at the end of the story). While it ended sooner than expected, I didn't feel it messed up the story. Cora is a baker and owns a bakery that her grandmother left her when she died. Cora is the sister to a Marine named Hector (who also died). Hector was a good friend to Stig (who Cora's been in love with for years) and when he dies, Stig offered Cora a place to go if she ever needs help. Unfortunately, some left over issues from Hector's pre-death dealings come calling on her and Cora finds herself in a big bind. This ends her up on Stig's doorstep with everything she owns in her car asking for his help. Stig is an immortal dragon shifter. He's in a brotherhood of dragons that protect the rest from "Knights" (humans that hunt the dragons because of an ancient blood feud). Part of the rules of the brotherhood is not to mate with human women. This rule and his friendship with Hector (bringing the "bro code" in to affect) has kept him from letting his attraction for Cora become anything more. When Cora shows up as his mating heat is starting Stig knows it's unwise to let her stay in his home but he cares to much for her to turn her out when she needs him. Cora is having trouble with some gangsters that her brother owed money from gambling debts. When things get rough, she goes to Stig for help. He doesn't want her to stay because he knows it'll be practically impossible stay away from her during his heat and also to hide things from her. He manages it the first night, although some hot dreams seem to prove a link between them. After she questions some weird noises she heard the night before, Stig admit there's something different about him and gives her a key to a chest containing some of his "history", which she looks over as he goes to lock himself away for the second night. Cora figures out that Stig is immortal and knows there's something strange about him but still doesn't know what he is. That night, after another hot dream, Stig (more under the control of his dragon side than his human) asks Cora to come to him, insisting that he needs her. She goes to the cavern he's locked himself up in and finds out what he is. She's actually more fascinated by him being a dragon than scared and they end up making love and she spends the night with him there. The next day, they admit their love for each other and things are going well until Cora starts experiencing some changes associated with her mating to Stig. She kind of freaks and starts to leave him but at the last moment, realizes she's being stupid and goes back to him. Unfortunately, on her way back, she's run off the road by the "Knights". Stig feels her need and comes to rescue her. They end up kind of saving each other and Stig's brotherhood comes to help out. In the end, Stig and Cora are safe, their mating is accepted by the brotherhood and they start their HEA together. I really liked this story. Cora and Stig are great and I really enjoyed the story. It's a hot and sweet story and I'm looking forward to the next story in the series. Id' recommend this story. Thumbs up. :D

See this review and more on The Moonlight Library! I don’t normally read erotica, and I wouldn’t normally go anywhere near a shapeshifting erotica because that stinks of bestiality to me more often than not (although I’m not totally against the idea of animal form smexitimes), so it is highly irregular that I’d not only be interested in an erotic novella, and one about dragon shifters to boot. Sharing his isolated house with the young woman he's desperately lusted after for quite some time is a recipe for disaster. But Cora Cardenas has nowhere else to go. And what the hell is going on in the basement at night? Stig needs to get Cora out of his house but his inner beast has other ideas. He's found his mate and she's not going anywhere.” And then at the end it said: Word count: 25,000 words. BAM! I’m in. A novella-length story means I won’t be investing too much time if I end up not enjoying it. So the story is about this guy And this girl called Cora who has a very underdeveloped character but a solid backstory/reason for why she knocks on Stig's door despite having a key and an open invitation. The story is mostly about their sexitimes, which was OK, I guess, as far as sexitimes go. I don’t normally read erotica, and my only other experience has been 50 Shades of Grey where I only lasted 4% before throwing my Kindle down in disgust. Some of it was a bit stupid, such as Stig whispering in Cora’s ear as she sucks him off, and that made me think he had some secret life as a contortionist no one bothered to tell me about. Some of it was repetitive and stupid. Cora often referred to her vagina as ‘her sex’, which I thought was stupid, but hey, for my first erotica I don’t know any better. Overall the romance was unconvincing but the sex was not. Whilst the characters were underdeveloped they did change by the end of the story (and therefore are three dimensional). I think I like the idea of ‘in heat’ mating phases, but not so much referring to sex as ‘mating’. I’ll need to read more in this series before I figure out if I like the dragon shifters being slaves to their sex hormones. In context it works, and it’s all consensual. What I did enjoy about this novella was that it had very solid worldbuilding, the two main characters were three dimensional, and the story actually had a plot besides sex. So I guess that’s good. But like I said, what do I know? Take any criticism with a grain of salt. Thanks to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for providing this advanced reader copy for an honest review.

So when I saw this on NetGalley I was extremely excited to read it and I just had a feeling I would love it. Boy, was I wrong. Essentially the book is about a dragon shifter, Stig, who is a hard as nails, no-holds-barred, bad ass who is forced to babysit his dead friend's sister who has gotten herself in trouble. To make matters worse, Stig is in his mating phase which makes his inner beast hungry for sex and to find his mate damned the cost. Having a female in the house that he is already attracted to is a recipe for disaster. He must spurn his romantic and sexual impulses, try to help Cora find her way out of the mess she has made of her life, and avoid a centuries old feud with the Knights of St. George who are dead set on ridding the world of dragon shifters. No pressure. First of all, this book is more so erotica with a paranormal air to it then regular paranormal romance. There is a fine line between these two genres. I associate erotica with raunchy scenes with naughty language and even naughtier characters. Paranormal romance is a bit more tame than that (depending on the author). This was too much for me. I have read some books where the language was risque, but this one made me blush profusely. Of course, it wasn't just the language the author used but the abundance of sex in the book. In a typical paranormal romance book there are two or three sex scenes TOPS, unless the book is in the Anita Blake series and then it's sex all the time. This book was a grand total of 128 pages and probably 100 of those pages were sex scenes. What story line there was was all but forgotten in the constant sex, sex, sex going on between the characters. I understand they have had the hots for each other for a long time and that Stig is all riled up from his mating phase but... c'mon. I wanted to embed myself in Cora's form just to push Stig away and tell him "not tonight" for once. As mentioned, the story was short and with all the sex, there wasn't much to the background of the dragon shifters or their feud with the Knights. The story moved INCREDIBLY fast. All Cora's problems and all that sexual tension between her and Stig got resolved in 2 days. Not to mention in that time, they realized they were mated and meant to be forever. Yep, because that's plausible. I really wanted to like this book. I TRULY did. But it just wasn't enough for me. The premise was great and there truly would have been something there if the story had been drawn out more and the sex scenes trimmed down. The ending was so abrupt I had no idea what just happened. It's almost as if the author got tired of writing and just stopped where she was. I will more than likely read the next book in the series simply so I may get some more of the Knights vs Dragons story line. I hope the next installment won't be as disappointing. While I was really looking forward to Dead Sexy Dragon, I did have some issues that kept me from really enjoying it. At just 128 pages, Lolita Lopez tries to pack a lot of story into this book - and I think that's where the majority of my problems stem from. There were four obstacles to Stig and Cora getting together, and each one was quickly, and much too easily, dealt with. In just a day and a half they were exchanging "I love you"s. Everything just rocketed along, and I wanted a moment for the characters to come to terms with the momentous changes happening in their lives. Stig and Cora were both, honestly, pretty flat characters. I can't think of any really defining characteristics about them - other than the normal for a quick, sexy paranormal book. Although, I did really like that the book started with Stig doing to the dishes; it just made me grin and ridiculously happy to show a man doing something so mundane when they hardly ever are shown to do anything of the sort in romance novels. I would have liked more time to get to know them both and maybe understood why they were falling in love so quickly. The sexual chemistry between Stig and Cora is blazing hot! They light sparks off of each other, in dreams and reality. Ms. Lopez has created an interesting world here. You have the Dragons and the Knights - locked in a centuries old feud. The feud is apparently never-ending, though the dragons are nearly immortal and the Knights simply human. Stig is part of a group of warriors fighting against the Knights, so it's safe to assume there will be sequels featuring the rest of the dragon warriors. I'd like to understand more about the dragons and their different abilities, some of the changes the Stig experienced, and how this feud manages to stay strong so many years later - through so many human generations. Dead Sexy Dragon is an easy read that has some great sexy times. I would have liked a bit more depth in the characters and the world, but this is the first book in the series. I'll likely give the next a read and see where the author decides to take this. Dragon-pron hopeful here - Buddy read with Sarah at some point. Thanks NetGalley and Forever Yours

There was so much potential for some real, meaty world-building. But I knew what I was getting into. Dead Sexy Dragon is book one in Lolita Lopez's Dragon Heat Series and I must say I enjoyed it immensely Before I get into the actual review I would like to take the time to appreciate the author's name.. If it's her real name great job parents.. and if it's a nomme de plume.. what a wonderful choice.. *grins* ok, back on track... Dead Sexy Dragon introduces us to a world where dragons and knights are still fighting.. An age old feud, caused by what else but love.. and well fear, racism and probably more than a little greed (Lolita doesn't say that but that's the way I see it). While the dragons are considered the good guys in this series I would imagine if the books had been written from the perspective of the knights, we could see them as heroes as well. We don't like the knights in this book, we aren't supposed to but they are living for a cause.. trying to make the world a better place. Stig Wyvern is going into Dragon Heat.. the time that happens every three years that causes him to go into the throws of lust.. Every night for eight nights once he shifts (which again he can not control) he is overcome with need. He has dealt with it by chaining himself in Dragon Form every night only to be released when the lust has released him. Plans to handle his need are under control until Cora Cardenas knocks on his door. The sister of his best friend and the human woman whom he has warned himself away from. Since she is in trouble there is no chance of turning her away and little hope of keeping his secret. Cora Cardenas is in really big trouble. Her brother left debts, serious debts with some less than respectable people. With no idea how to pay them back she is stuck transferring items for them (yeah we know nothing good can be in those boxes). Only to be caught and forced to testify to save herself.. Now the bad guys are after her and she has nowhere to run. Well nowhere but to the man she has always wanted and who has promised to always be there.. Cora and Stig want each other.. they need each other and are clearly meant for each other but Stig keeps shutting her down which totally confuses Cora. When she wanders down to his subterrain cavern and discovers something odd he is forced to share his secrets.. Amazingly enough Cora accepts him for who he is. That's not to say she isn't a little freaked by some of the things going on. But when the Knights find their way to her, she realizes there are things way worse than loving a dragon.. A fast read but a total delight.. can't wait to read more. Shauni This review is based on the ARC of Dead Sexy Dragon provided by netgalley and is scheduled to be released on August 6, 2013

We get our first in the book with Stig, we know he's along, we know he's got something going on, we knew he's gonna go through a shift, and that he's in heat. Oh, I do love the whole forced heat thing. I makes me tingle when peeps are uncontrollably horny for one another. Enter Cora. She's kinda a mess. But she's an endearing mess. I didn't mind her flighty way of thinking so much because she wasn't really dumb, she was just young and riding that learning curve still. Heck, I'm 32 and still on a learning curve about life. She barges into his life right when he needs to shift into a dragon. Can we say yum! And he's like a big awesome, cool, horny, dream sucking dragon. The story is told from shifting POV and I feel deeply in love with these characters. I really appreciated that the author didn't info dumb a whole load of world-building on me. That more times than not makes a book one of anything fantasy or paranormal tedious to read and you are slogging through it hopping for some action. In this book they drop you subtle information about the world of the dragons and their war with the knights. It is a unique and interesting spin on dragons. She kept to a basic formula and didn't slather us in useless dribble. This was just a really cool book, I'm trying to so hard to refrain from spoilers. A few things I can't say in the review because it is part of the conflict of the story. Although I tell myself I wouldn't react like Cora, I can see WHY she reacted that way. Logically, it made sense. And after she metaphorically kicked herself in the pants, she turned around to get back her dragon. Lolita has a great way of weaving fantasy world that are easy to take and don't weight you down with dribble. I'm a total fan of this series and can't wait for more books! I think what I like the most is that the woman came through at the end as the hero. That might be a spoiler but I appreciated it. She was strong without tossing out cuss words and blazing with a shot gun in her hand in tight leather. She was a realistic character that took a stand when it counted. It made her smart and likable. *I received a copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

I recently went back to NetGalley after a long duration and saw this was still sitting on my shelf. About two and a half years later. Oops. Cora's the heroine fleeing from some trouble to her late brother's best friend and old Marine buddy, Stig Wyvern (I see what you did thar). Unfortunately for the both of them, it's his time of the month. Just kidding, but he goes through a nine-day period every three years where he's in heat. Sadly it's not called pon farr. Anywho, they've been hot for each other for years but neither of them knows it. Naturally. Pretty soon, like the next day, they have loads of sex after she finds out he's a dragon. The sexual interactions take up around 40% of the book and treads the line between romance and erotica. Some stuff happens that I don't want to give away, but Cora ends up in peril, and then Stig. It's a romance so obviously you know how it ends. The story is pretty rushed, and the first couple of pages were a bit rough, but there are some interesting ideas here, so I just might pick up the next book and see where it's going. In the end, it didn't rock my socks, but it was an entertaining way to spend an hour or so. Received from Netgalley for review.

Cora is on the run from a bad situation and the only place she can think to hide in is with her dead brother’s marine friend. Truly sorry, because my usual gripes are absent. There’s quite a bit world building with a long and complex history that promises to be expanded in the sequels. The main characters are pretty well sketched with dreams and fears of their own even if I had trouble believing an immortal being that keen on joining a war after another. Due to the length of it, the story is rushed but it remains logical and believable within its world’s rules. No, this time it was the erotica part of the book that failed me. More accurately, the erotica vocabulary: (view spoiler)[ core, cum, cunt, folds, mound, pussy, (honeyed) sex, tummy (hide spoiler)] …yeah, no. Because I couldn’t lean on the insta-lust crutch, I didn’t buy the insta-love angle either. I simply couldn’t enjoy roadrunner fast the romance. Too much of a stretch even for my active imagination. It’s too bad, because had the smut adjectives and nouns been less repulsive to me, I’d have wanted to read more about the world Lopez has created. She is now in desperate trouble and it couldn’t be at a worse time for Stig. His dragon is running hot, his hormones are raging and Cora is too tempting to resist, but not only is love between a dragon and a human forbidden, Cora has NO idea what Stig really is. How could she possibly accept him once she knows he is an immortal dragon? Dead Sexy Dragon by Lolita Lopez is novella length, but does not lack in attention to detail. Clearly Dead Sexy Dragon is meant to sensual and erotic with some story thrown in. For me, the “encounters” between Stig and Cora were a little too detailed or graphic. There wasn’t much in the line of sensual nor was there much left to the imagination. Each sexual move was detailed again to the point that I felt Masters & Johnson wrote part of the script. That said, Stig’s character WAS developed well with considerable attention made to his background and his life, fleshing him out and making him likable and realistic. Cora was almost flat as a character and not so easily identified with. The plotline of dragons versus knights is intriguing and I hope to read more of that idea in the next book. Is this a battle of good over evil or a tragic mistake that has gone on for too long like the Hatfields and McCoys? I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley. And this is an honest review. I really love the cover of this book and yes, I am that kind of a person who shallow enough to buy book based on the cover (or in this case request a book because of the cover.). The story has a standard romantic suspense plot. Cora Cardena ran from the bad guy and goes to her dead brother's best friend, Stig Wyvern to ask for help. The story has a standard romantic suspense plot. Cora Cardena ran from the bad guy and goes to her dead brother's best friend, Stig Wyvern to ask for help. Paranormal is thrown into the mix when the hero is also a dragon shifter. And with the erotic twist, the timing she arrives at his doorstep is not so good since Stig are in the "heat", which makes him want woman a lot. This novella is the first in the series of dragon shifters, which belong to the organization called "the Brotherhood of the Green Hide" that provide protection to their species from the slayers. I find the name is too comical. If the tone of the story intend that way, it would be OK. But this is not a comedy romance. The story is quite serious. But that is not most objection of this book. The deal-breaker for me is the heroine. Cora ran from the bad guys but I am not sure if she is a good person. Please don't get me wrong, I have an open-minded and can read about flawed characters. But I think Cora is way past flaw. She is someone I don't wish to have a happy ending. She explains how the trouble begin by putting all the wrong into other people. Her grandmother died and she inherited the bakery. Her brother died and he owned a lot of gambling debt to mafia. When they demanded money, she did not have it. So she allowed them to use her business as a mule to make some deliveries. When asked what type of deliveries, this is her answer. "Drugs, Money. Guns." Cora shrugged. I really cannot stand this woman. I cannot sympathize with her situation. She still have her bakery with 9 staffs employed at the time. The mafia do not threaten her or anyone she loves. By her word, "I'd just lost my grandmother and my brother within three weeks. I was so confused and swimming in grief. I was desperate. I just wanted them to leave me alone" For me, that is not enough reason for her to do what she is doing. After that scene, everything goes downhill. I think my opinion from that point is too bias to continue writing a review so I am not going to mention it. If this type of heroine is OK with you or you can accept her decision under those circumstances, I think may give this book a try. The rest of the story is not too bad. Grade D

Dragon shifters, what a great concept! I loved the idea of this book and I wanted to love it. While it's not listed as erotica, it really is. The sex scenes, and there are a LOT of them, were a bit over the top with lots of "tab a into slot b" descriptions and actually took me out of the story. I skimmed lots of them. I hate to do that, but decided that if I was going to finish it, I'd have to. Which is a shame as the STORY in this book is great. The shifters are in an age-old war with the Knights and that was a fascinating story line. They have rules about when and where one can fight. They have so much history. I wanted to read all about them. We are introduced to a few other dragons, and I'm glad Ms. Lopez has her second book in the series set to publish in October. I've listed it below for you. Stig is a great character. I did laugh, just a bit, when I read his last name was Wyvern. Nice touch, that! Cora was all over the place, though. She's young, she did something stupid, she's in trouble. She also doesn't listen to Stig's rules. I really enjoyed the time they just talked and got to know each other. My guess is that she knew, on some level, that she really was his mate, so her lack of fear made sense. But then she flip-flopped and it seemed out of character. Together, they were fun, so that gave some points back. I want to give this FIVE BOOKMARKS for the idea behind this book. But I have to take away some points for the execution of it. Since this is the first in the series, I have high hopes that things will only improve as we learn more about these dragons and their mates. 3.5 Bookmarks...rounded to 4 for Goodreads' system: *Thank you, NetGalley and Forever ~ Grand Central Publishing, for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This requires him to lock himself up during the night until it passes. He is currently going through intense struggles with his raging libido, when his military buddy's sister, Cora, shows up out of the blue begging him to let her stay there. This is the last thing Stig needs. Cora is human and love and sexual relationships with humans is forbidden in Stig's clan. Cora is a temptation, not to mention the questions she may have about his time in the basement. But, Cora is in terrible trouble. Her brother was recently killed in an accident and he left Cora with his gambling debts. Cora was forced to do something illegal to keep from losing her bakery business. Now the business is up in smoke and Cora is being pursued by some very dangerous men. Stig has no choice but to let her stay with him. Cora was confused by Stig's reaction to her showing up at his home. He had told her when Hector died, if she ever needed him, he would be there. But, he wasn't happy about her being there. Once Cora settles in her room, determined to get a good night's sleep, she begins having very erotic dreams. Cora has always loved Stig. She held on to the hope that maybe some day they would get together. Being in his home has only made her want him more. When the truth begin to slowly come out, Cora is stunned. Not only that, the inevitable takes place and Cora comes away with some rather unusual side effects. What Cora doesn't know is that Stig has enemies, and she may have very well become a pawn in their war. While this novella was an enjoyable escape and very sexy, there wasn't anything here that hasn't been done before, really. But, it's hard sometimes to judge a new series by such a short introduction. The series does show promise, however. I will read the next book in the series to see where it leads. Overall a quick, light hearted, sexy, fantasy/paranormal romance that I will give a C+.

There is a lot of potential for some really interesting world building there - I wonder if we might see a knight fall in love with a dragon at some point in the series? I know that stories have to move quickly when they're a novella, the author has a limited number of words to work with and obviously that means that things happen faster than they would in a full length novel and I can deal with that. Unfortunately in this case I found it difficult to believe that these characters go from friends who have the hots to each other to declaring their undying love for each other within the space of a couple of days. It did help that they have history together but I still didn't find it believable. I also felt that Cora's reaction to finding out Stig was a dragon were unrealistic, considering she isn't supposed to know that dragons exist she takes the news completely in her stride and hardly even questions him about it. As much as I had problems with the story it is undoubtedly a sexy read. The couple have fantastic chemistry and I enjoyed reading about their sexy times. I think this series has a lot of potential but I want to learn more about the dragons and their abilities and their ongoing war with the knights in the next instalment. I'm hoping these books will just get better and better when the author has had more time to flesh out the world she's created.

This short and compact story did a pretty good job of introducing us to the world of dragon shifters and their history. It also introduced us to the age old war that dragon shifters and knights have been embroiled in. While we got some of the history, I definitely would have liked more on that. I would have liked more tension with regards to the feud and danger they were in. Hopefully we’ll get more in the following books. The tension between Cora and Stig added to the story. I like the way the tension was built. That was a very nice touch. I just wish the tension had been extended to waking hours, not just dreams. I also like the Cora didn’t just accept all of this. She had some problems with it. That made it all the more realistic. Ms. Lopez has done a good job of bringing us into her dragon world. She added some things I’ve not seen before with dragon shifters while staying true to the legend of dragons that most of us know. I’m really hoping these grow into full length novels instead of staying novellas. I would definitely like more from them. The potential is there for a full length novel. I’m looking forward to the next one in the series. Love me some dragon shifters! I received a copy of this book via NetGalley.

Lonely, good, caring people with genuine feelings for one another, Stig and Cora are perfect for each other and I love that Cora's the one to take the lead and moves their relationship to the next level. Things get intense quickly but it all felt right for these two. I had one big issue with Cora towards the end. She's very much a take charge, I accept you completely as both man and beast from the moment she uncovers what Stig is but then something happens that frightens her and she does something drastic that makes little sense to who she has been up to that point. It didn't feel right for her character and I thought Stig deserved better from her. I still like Cora but that one thing did some damage to her in my eyes. Readers get a taste of what Lolita Lopez's dragons are and what they have to offer. You get some history and the who and why they have enemies. I really hope this is expanded in the next installment because my interests have definitely been peeked. I'm also interested in learning more about the Brotherhood of the Green Hide's leader Ignatius. He's a mystery I want to solve and I hope he gets a book soon. I loved seeing these two lonely people give into their long felt attraction and form a life together. It was just sweet. And, well, sexy too. Whew, yeah. The steamy bits are nice and steamy and had me fanning myself. There's also a nice bit of humor added to the mix... By slow degrees, his skin faded back to its normal color. "Your eyes," Cora said. "They're still, you know, dragony." He snorted with amusement. "Dragony? Is that even a word?" "It is now." One thing I was really pleased with was how easy it was to jump into this world. I never felt confused or like I was missing big parts or getting an over abundance of info that bogged things down. Dead Sexy Dragon introduces us to Stig who is a centuries old dragon shape-shifter. He is a former soldier and member of a dragon brotherhood that generally live in seclusion to protect themselves from the Knights intent on destroying them. His world is turned upside down when Cora, the human sister of his now dead human friend/brother in harms shows up needing refuge from some shady characters that her brother owed money to. Cora was always attracted to Stig but he followed the code of not sleeping with your friend’s sister. All of that goes out the window because she shows up at a time when Stig is literally in heat like a dog. He tries to fight the lustful attraction but eventually relents. What happens next is purely from the pages of Hustler magazine. There is a brief amount of violence related to the previously mentioned shady characters but that barely registers compared to the molten heat between Cora and Stig.
